Hobbies are fun, too. That's how I consider everything Uriell has done. He works on things, but when he feels like it. Which is fine for killing time and fiddling with things you like.

But as a single developer, well...A lot of it is discipline. You need to be tenacious. He's good on his artworks, but I feel he spends too much time arting, and less time putting to work the scripts and code.

Oh man, back in the days, they would call you a 'code monkey.' Those people just sat there and typed \{Booleian = True} all day.

But that's the thing, they don't need to be. They don't need to do anything, they're not selling a product or paywalling updates on a roadmap, it's just a hobby for their free time. They could drop this at any point and no one could reasonably blame them for it. I feel like some of the people in this thread, not you per say, are being a little entitled when it comes to how other people spend their free time.

i mean, no, we couldn't really blame them for dropping a unpaid for hobby.
but we'd still be disappointed as hell about it.

he doesn't "owe" us a game... but we do want the game. potentially enough to even pay for it. hell, plenty of porn game content creators get monthly patreon payments just for updates a month early.

I followed him for decades because of that game, all his other projects are sadly of little interests to me - I give no hoots about Five Night's at Freddies and I don't get why this is so pupular, I'm not interested in Futa Mermaids. So it's a sad day for me, but more power to the rest of you.

Technically he says at some point he'll remake non-chibi original SpaceEscape, but come on. I am so sorry to say this, but he won't.

Just because he makes a post on the itch page for chibi edition doesn't mean that hes actively working on it and an update is around the corner. He's been chipping away at the slime animations for months. Not to mention you ignore the fact that hes got 2 other games hes been working on, some mermaid platformer and a fnaf clone, and has admitted for once they bit off more than they can chew. They made posts way back in april on their blog about using those two games just mentioned to learn more about godot because they realized they had no fucking idea what they were doing and would just make another spaghetti code mess if they didn't learn properly with experimentation.

The next build could come out tonight. It could come out a week from now. We might not get one for 6+ months. One thing I know for certain is that urielman has split his efforts considerably and when the original space escape was his only big project he couldn't pull it off despite spending over 10 years chipping away at it. Get excited if you want but you're just gonna be disappointed the longer it takes.

After careful review of the presented evidence, the verdict remains that your statement has no basis in fact. One might even be inclined to call you "full of shit".

This would of course be different than calling you shit, which is an insult of your character rather than a disparagement of a specific opinion or statement.
